This FAQ covers our standard membership classes. Oscar Lodge operates differently:
- Pay-as-you-go: ยฃ6 per class (no membership required)
- First class FREE for new students
- Open to over 60s (Oscar Lodge owners have booking priority)
- Monday 11:45am - 12:30pm

After your free taster, you'll be invited to join as a member.
๐ What's different about Oscar Lodge classes? ๐
Oscar Lodge is our only pay-as-you-go class and operates differently from our membership-based sessions:
- Cost: ยฃ6 per class (no membership required)
- First class FREE for new students
- Who can attend: Open to all over 60s (Oscar Lodge owners have booking priority)
- When: Every Monday, 11:45am - 12:30pm (45 minutes)
- Accessibility: Seated Tai Chi & Qigong friendly
- Location: Oscar Lodge, Aylesbury
Everything else about the class (what to wear, health considerations, instructor approach) follows the same guidelines as our other classes.

๐ What are the Membership Prices? ๐ท
(Note: This applies to standard membership classes only. Oscar Lodge is pay-as-you-go โ see above.)
Join us for a complimentary introductory class when you sign up for our weekly sessions. After that you are warmly invited to become a member of the Tai Chi Globe community.
- Silver: ยฃ37/month for 1 class per week ๐ฅ
- Gold: ยฃ50/month for 2 classes per week ๐ฅ
- Diamond: ยฃ61/month for 3 classes per week ๐

๐ I have health concerns. Are Tai Chi & Qigong safe to do? ๐จ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฉบ
Tai Chi and Qigong are low-impact, gentle yet powerful internal arts. They can be performed standing or seated. Research shows they offer a wide range of physical and mental health benefits and may improve quality of life for those with medical conditions.

๐ Is experience required? ๐ฑ
No. Tai Chi and Qigong are adaptable for all ages and abilities. Our classes are designed to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of experience ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ.
๐ Do you offer private tuition? ๐
Currently unavailable due to full classes. If this changes, we'll update this page and notify the mailing list. For small-group or organisational bookings, see Group sessions below.
๐ Community & Volunteers ๐ฅ
To get involved, you must be a Tai Chi Globe member. This ensures a shared understanding and commitment to Tai Chi and Qigong ๐ค.
๐ What are the payment methods? ๐ณ
Debit/credit card and PayPal are the default methods. Cash or cheque may be accepted at the instructor's discretion but are generally discouraged due to administration costs ๐ฐ.
๐ Do you teach children? ๐ถ
Currently, classes are for adults aged 18 and over. This may change in the future ๐.
๐ Group sessions for charities & businesses? ๐ข
Yes. Group sessions for up to 17 people are available from ยฃ50 per hour. Larger numbers can be accommodated and may require more than one instructor. Please use "Need help?" to provide your requirements ๐ค๐ฅ.
๐ Are there workshops available? ๐ ๏ธ
Workshops will be available from late 2025 onwards. Details will be announced on this website and in our newsletter ๐๏ธ.
๐ What styles of Tai Chi & Qigong do you teach? ๐

๐ Where can I park when attending classes? ๐ ฟ๏ธ
Most venues have on-site parking (e.g., Aylesbury Multicultural Community Centre and Rivets Sports & Social Club). For venue-specific directions and parking details, please see each class page on the Classes page.
๐ How do I join? ๐ค
When you register, you receive a free taster class. After that, you'll be invited to join the Tai Chi Globe membership.
๐ I'm having trouble registering or using the site on my iPhone ๐ฑ
Some iPhone users occasionally run into issues if cookies are blocked or restricted.
- Go to Settings > Safari
- Ensure Block All Cookies is off
- Refresh the page and try again (or try another browser)

๐ Are there classes specifically for people with Parkinson's?
Currently, there are no dedicated classes, but several members with Parkinson's attend our regular sessions. Thanks to the adaptable nature of Tai Chi and Qigong, our classes suit a wide range of conditions. If there's enough interest, we may introduce Parkinson's-specific sessions.
